This afternoon, Leicester Fire Department activated our new first responder vehicle, designated TAC-18. This is replacing the old red first responder vehicle, which served us well.
Our first responder vehicle and ambulance are some of the most utilized vehicles in our fleet as they are the first on-scene for most calls. While they are well maintained and cared for, they work hard responding to calls where minutes and seconds count. As a result, they wear more quickly. The new TAC-18 is a welcomed upgrade and is looking forward to serving our community.
